Introducing Katharine, Our Web Designer!
Updated: Apr 23, 2018
This is a very old photo; but,who can find Katharine and Lee?
I just figured out that Katharine, our wonderful website designer, and I have been friends for approximately fifty years! We met sometime in the 70s when we were working at the Cathedral of Christ the King School with the Grey Nuns of the Sacred Heart. From the Grey Nuns, and especially from Sister Mary Margaret O’Hara, we learned that expressing appreciation is very important for maintaining a team. Additionally, through the religious order's focus on peace, justice, and human values, we absorbed their dedication to local and to global service. Without a doubt, the friendship between Katharine and Lee was solidified through a powerful peace / justice workshop at Seton Hall University. We returned home from that workshop ready to change the world! As the years progressed, Katharine earned a PhD in media and Roger and I managed the Rocky Mountain Region for CCI / Greenheart, a cultural exchange organization. Still, we remained dedicated to children, education, global affairs, and service to others. When I expressed the need of an active website to promote Sister Stan and the wonderful work she is doing in the North of Ghana, Katharine “jumped right in” to help. The website is a work in progress and we will be updating regularly. (Actually, when referencing the website, Katharine told me that “I / Lee could have done it — but, I lacked the patience." Smile, Emmanuel!) Knowing Katharine, working with the Grey Nuns, and managing a region with cultural exchange, "paved my road" to Africa.Thank You, Katharine, for being my partner along the journey.
